1989: Hocus Pocus Babe Concerts

Sleeping With The Past Tour
North America, 28/Jul to 18/Oct
47 shows

The Elton John band:

Davey Johnstone as musical director and lead guitar, Fred Mandel and Guy Babylon on keyboards, Jonathan Philip Moffet on drums, Romeo Williams as bass player and Mortonette Jenkins, Marlena Jeter and Natalie Jackson on backing vocals. Elton played some songs without the band (*). Elton added snippets of soul songs to the extended final instrumental version on "Rocket Man". And Bernie, for first time since 1976, came along for the complete three months, explaining his decision because he "wanted to do one more tour before (I) hang up my road shoes". But, unfortunetely, it was clear something was wrong when the shows were shorter than ever, and, on last show, he refused to stand up for applause and kept looking at his watch.
